On Monday night, around 80 City workers competed for the ultimate prize – a gold trophy and the honour of becoming the Spitalfields Crypt Trust City Treasure Hunt Champions. Fourteen different teams gathered at the SOCIeTY Bar and Restaurant in Blackfriars to have fun, challenge themselves and support the work of Spitalfields Crypt Trust.

Working with some of the most disadvantaged people living on the edge of the City, Spitalfields Crypt Trust offers a range of high-quality support, rehabilitation and training services to individuals who are facing problems of homelessness, alcohol, drugs, poverty or social isolation.

The winning team ‘Z Marks the Spot’ (pictured left), made up of Lloyds TSB employees, summed up the evening by saying, “Nice walk around London, good puzzles, nice atmosphere of fun.”

For many City workers, the Treasure Hunt was a chance to socialise with colleagues while contributing life-changing funds to help individuals struggling with homelessness and addiction. As the team from The Bookshop Loughton said, “It was an interesting and enjoyable experience – and all the better for being in aid of a good cause.”

Several teams that competed on Monday are regulars at the Spitalfields Crypt Trust Pub Quiz, held at the Water Poet, 9-11 Folgate Street, London E1 6BX every other Monday at 7pm. The next Pub Quiz will be held on Monday 23 May.
