Drop in manager Gary strode into our office this morning and declared his need for sleeping bags. Any sleeping bags – if they’re thin ones, he gives people two.
It’s easy to understand the difference a sleeping bag can make if you’re facing a night in a doorway or on a bench. The cold weather that we’ve dodged til so late in the season is finally here. Just a few minutes putting the bins out in last night’s foggy cold made me appreciate ducking back into the warmth of our home.
Perhaps a mental inventory of your loft or off-season camping kit will reveal a sleeping bag that’s surplus to requirements or due for an upgrade? Or maybe you could pick up a cheap one for a person who really needs it tonight, and over the coming months?
Please take any sleeping bags you can spare to one of our charity shops where they’ll be collected and given out at our drop in. You can be sure that they will be well used and much appreciated.
