SCT was proud to receive a visit today from Meg Hillier, Member of Parliament for Hackney South and Shoreditch.
Our MP joined us with a delegation from Rwanda’s Parliament and was given a tour of our New Hanbury Project, Restoration Station and Paper & Cup cafe.
This was the venue for a lively discussion about the need for addiction therapy and rehabilitation in Rwanda. As childhood traumas lead to addictions in the UK, we were told that the genocide and related ordeals are having serious psychological consequences in Rwanda.
The delegates and Meg Hillier were complementary about SCT’s work and social enterprises, and we’ll be keeping Meg’s office up to date with events here. Come back soon!
