“Just yesterday I was sitting on a park bench looking at some gravestones, and now I’m here. Everyone here is so lovely.”
This is what Roger just said to me, our newest resident at Acorn House.
“I was at an AA meeting last night and my friend saw me said that he was going to being me to Acorn House. He’s been through the programme here.

So I stayed at his last night and now here I am. I can’t believe this is happening. What a relief. I’m so excited. I’m apprehensive too.”
Roger has just come back from his first appointment with our local GP and has moved into one of our 16 rooms on Shoreditch High Street.
On Friday he’ll be having a Christmas lunch with his new housemates. Roger, we hope you have a good Christmas and peaceful new year.
