Our eighth charity shop is now open on Hoe Street in Walthamstow.

With seven other shops across East London, and an online charity shop, we are excited to launch our newest addition. SCT in Walthamstow is a community-focused shop selling quality donated goods at affordable prices.

“Our residents have brought their skills to the renovated space and we’re excited to become an established charity retailer on the busy high street here in Walthamstow to bring the heart of SCT further East where we have been working since 1965 to support a life free of addiction and homelessness.” said Leah, our Director of Retail.

Continuing our commitment to sustainability, we have set up our shop using entirely donated fixtures and fittings. Many of the display units were made at our social enterprise, Restoration Station, in Shoreditch.

“The shop team are really happy to be opening the stunning shop, bringing the SCT name to Walthamstow and are excited to become part of the diverse community here.”

Tony, our CEO, says “SCT is a celebration of so much that makes East London great – creativity, kindness, hard work and hope. How fitting that we are now just around the corner from the home of William Morris and where Ken Russell went to college! SCT is also about new beginnings and so we’re particularly looking forward to greeting and getting to know all those new friends we are yet to meet.

The sales from our charity shops generate essential income for SCT, helping to fund expert support, safe homes, training opportunities, and a supportive community. Meanwhile, the shops offer flexible work experience for people in recovery.
