We are delighted to confirm that Dr Louisa Snow has been appointed as CEO.
The announcement comes as we mark 60 years of recovery in East London. Beginning as a simple night shelter and soup kitchen in the crypt of Christ Church Spitalfields on 6 November 1965, we have grown into a lifeline for thousands of people experiencing addiction and homelessness.
Louisa was previously Director of Services at SCT and stepped into the role of Interim CEO in October 2024. She brings extensive experience across statutory and third-sector organisations. Louisa holds a PhD in Forensic Psychology and expertise in homelessness, housing, criminal justice, and substance misuse.
Commenting on her appointment, Lousia said:
“I’m delighted to be appointed as SCT’s CEO. I joined the charity because I’m passionate about breaking the cycle of exclusion, homelessness and addiction; empowering people to overcome trauma and establish a fulfilling life. I’m inspired by the dedication of SCT colleagues and the determination of everyone we support to find a life beyond homelessness and addiction.
I look forward to working with colleagues and Trustees, partners and the people we support to set the future strategic direction of SCT, ensuring that we’re here for as long as people need our support.”
Welcoming Louisa as CEO, Chair Philip Young said:
“I’m delighted that Louisa has been appointed by the Board of Trustees as permanent CEO. With a commitment to SCT’s mission, immense understanding of the challenges faced by those we support and a focus on collaboration, she has the energy and drive to lead SCT, taking it from strength to strength. I look forward to meaningful conversations about the future strategic direction of SCT.”
