We are an East London charity supporting people affected by addiction, homelessness and housing insecurity.
For more than 60 years, we have worked alongside our local community to support some of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. Many of those we support face complex challenges, including poverty, mental and physical health issues, and involvement with the criminal justice system.
Through effective, compassionate services, we empower people to achieve lasting recovery, stability and more fulfilling lives.
No one chooses a life of addiction. No one chooses homelessness.
Yet every day in East London and beyond, people lose their homes, their livelihoods and their families. With the average age of death for someone experiencing homelessness standing at just 44, too many people lose their lives.
At SCT we know recovery is possible. We offer a lifeline to around 200 people a year and believe lasting change starts with the right support, at the right time. We offer a residential addictions recovery programme and addictions counselling, supported housing, and a Housing First service, and training and development opportunities. Our charity shops and social enterprises put us in the heart of communities across East London.
